Stools, ottomans, whatever you want to call them...

I would so love to have some that do not pick up my cats hair everytime I turn around, and I think that these are just perfect! Three of them for $89.00...thats what? little less than $30.00 per? Not too bad...though I might have to look around for something cheaper, I am a cheap ass, as we all well know!!

Here's a pic!

Yup, I'm a cheap ass...

While I love my four cats, I cannot imagine buying this tiny monstrosity! The Hepper Pod Pet Bed is stylish and even kinda cute in a star trek kinda way, but definately NOT $155.00 worth of CUTE!!!

UGH!

Different doings

Well, this is certain to catch some sort of attention!

Courtesy of Living Etc., this is some cool stuff! See more at this link!

Smells of the holidays...

I forgot all about making pomanders, using oranges and cloves! Oh, how I love the scent! I might just have to make a couple come this weekend!

BTW, thanks to apartment therapy, yet again, for this wonderful reminder! Pic is also from their site!

Oh, Apartment Therapy, I love you!

Oh, the ideas that flourish upon that site! It just makes me croon, and swoon! If only I could come up with all the craftiness that they showcase! That must be why I just borrow their ideas and show them off here, although I do have other favorite spots that I will show stuff from too.

Night light anyone?

I think this is sooo cool!! I love this look, and being a major book-ish type freak, this is right up my alleyway! Plus, it's a DIY project! Beautiful!! Ah, if only I had that kind of time!

So, if anyone has the time and skills to make that for me, I would really appreciate it!!

What do you think about this?

We have friends that decorated their tree a-la Hammacher Schlemmer, . This is the pic of their tree:

Boy did my coworkers have stuff to say about that tree! Although, knowing the owners of that tree, I think it's just like them! Interesting and different! :D

Now, here was another tree that was being shown off on geocaching.com's forums:

Ummm....yeah....ummm...WOW!

Not sur ewhat else to say about that one...

What do you think?

Some more interesting things I found last night!

Ya know I can't leave well enough alone, so I had to point this out from Decor8's blog.

This doily vase is just way too cute and I would love to have one of these, personally. Although, I guess you would have to put in a single stem or very light flowers that you don't mind croaking after one day. Personally, I think I would just put in a fake flower so that it would stay fresh and beautiful. Plus, then you could change it out when ever from other flowers that you might have for other decorations throughout the house. I just love it!

The cool things I saw today...

On Tiny Choices, I found what looks like it would be a cool little site for those of us who have families every where around the country/world/universe, for those who are a little spacier than others :) . Anyway, the site is called Elfster and looks like it could be pretty cool! I don't have a big enough family for this to work real well, but its still a cool idea!

Or another one on Apartment Therapy.

Who wouldn't want to sit in a chair that's a sculpture?

Or how about these beauties featured here? Here's some pics to ogle!

Busy Busy Busy

This has just been a busy weekend, filled with Christmas goodness! The rest of my decorations are up, the Christmas parade came through, and I finished up my grandmothers Christmas tree as well. We also had Alex's sleepover this weekend as well, full of late night movie watching and pizza to eat. We even worked on a gingerbread house this weekend also! Does that sound busy enough for you?

I'm also working on some of these decorations to put in my tree and around the house, and maybe this paper-craft star (scroll down!), too, since I can't find one that I like at the store!

Check out the photos while you're at! (The tree is a few posts down!)

Did ya see my little ham??

Anyway, must get for now! Enjoy the day!

More pics to share!

I'm obviously behind the times but,

this definitely deserves to be talked about. I had no idea about this miracle that appears to happen to some coma victims, until some of my coworkers were discussing DNR orders, and following thru on others wishes. If you hadn't noticed, I work at a hospital and that does mean we have conversations such as these frequently.

So, who would've thought that being in a "vegetative state" could be reversed, even for just a few minutes, by a pill that makes the rest of us sleep? I know I wouldn't have! So hearing about this and then looking it up to discover its old news, by more than a YEAR!, just absolutely astounded me!

So, here's new stuff to think about in our daily lives, what kinds of good can a medicine do?

Sharing the holiday spirit...

Forgot yesterday, but here's a few for today!

Ok, so I didn't forget, per se, I just never got around to it, plus, it is time intensive finding these stories.  I always knew I didn't like the news because it is always so negative, but I didn't realize just how hard finding the good REALLY is.

So, after just not having time yesterday, I figured I better spend my morning doing nothing but looking for the joyful, positive, and optimistic.   What scares me the most is that it is the holiday season and I'm having problems.  What is going to be like come July?!?

Anyway, on to the stories.

It's always a good thing when a little one can defy the odds and still make it out alright...

People helping out people aren't mentioned as much as it should be, and I'm sure these individuals will someday be blessed in many ways for their brave deeds...

And anything dealing with an older person defending themselves deserves to be mentioned as well (plus, stuff like that just makes me smile and hope that I will be that feisty when I am that age)...

Treehugging ahead!

Just a warning, but I think this also qualifies as "doing something good", even if it isn't for just one person.

Sad news, but of some importance...

For those of us on the very outer most fringes of middle class, bordering on lower, this should be enough to give ya the willies.

Is anyone else, besides me, getting worried yet?

"Caged" boys are doing well, now in nurturing home.

When the three young Rodriguez boys were found in horrible living conditions, including living inside of cages, being labeled "feral children", the outlook for them was grim. Thanks to the perseverance of the Viniegra couple, the boys are now living a normal, happy life. Where are more people like this at?

Illegal Border Crosser Saves Boy, 9

Not all Mexicans looking to come into the US are horrible. It should be the individual that counts, not where they come from. This is another example of when a person does something good for another. Would we all have done what this man did? We can only hope that we would've.

The 10 Worst Thanksgiving Dishes

The best part of Thanksgiving dinner isn't the turkey. It's the side dishes. My family always serves mashed potatoes, candied yams, stuffing, cranberry sauce. These recipes are the "favorites" for a reason, they taste good and aren't disgusting. The same can't be said for the following 10 side dish recipes. These are absolutely pitiful

Yet another reason why I agree Apple rocks: "My PowerBook Has a Dead Pixel. It'll Be a Few Days, Here's a Macbook Pro."

His old PowerBook had a dead pixel, when he took it in to be fixed, he was told it would be a few days because the new display was not in stock. For the inconvenience, he recieved a Macbook Pro for free! The title of the blog post is "The reason there's a 'Cult of Mac'", if every Mac user got a free Macbook Pro, then boy is he right. Some American Rappers Flash Euros in Music Videos

Pay attention as you watch the catchy new music video from the mega-star rapster Jay-Z, "Blue Magic", and see if you can't spot the product placement. It is not a fancy car that he is endorsing – although both his rides, a Rolls- Royce and soft-top Bentley, are plenty spiffy – but rather a currency – and it is not the dollar.
